Hello Bicycle Commuters and Supporters,
The BIKES ONboard team has expanded its scope to include bikes onboard
BART. We continue to encourage Caltrain to improve its bicycle service,
too. Please help by taking action today!
Action #1: Email BART about its Bicycle Plan by May 27
Action #2: Sign the Petition to allow bikes onboard BART at all times
Action #3: Report bicycle bumps on Caltrain
ACTIONS #1 and #2: EMAIL BART ABOUT ITS BKE PLAN; SIGN OUR PETITION
BART has updated its Bicycle Plan, but the Plan ignores the pressing need
to improve BART’s onboard bicycle service. Tell BART to allow bikes on
trains at all times. Please see our web page,
http://www.sfbike.org/bobart, where you will find:
1. Talking points to send to BART about its Bike Plan – please email
BART now!
2. A petition to allow bikes on BART at all times – please sign
the
petition!
3. A presentation we made to BART about bikes onboard – for your
information.
ACTION #3: REPORT BICYCLE BUMPS ON CALTRAIN
There are a handful of wonderful people who repeatedly report bumped
bikes. Could others help, too, please? We need your bump reports to push
Caltrain for improved bike service. Please report bumps using the handy
email link near the top of our web page:
http://www.sfbike.org/bobPlease report the following:
+ number of bumped cyclists (even if you are not one of them),
+ day,
+ station,
+ train number or time plus travel direction,
+ train type, i.e., old or gallery vs. new or Bombardier, and
+ any additional information such as how getting bumped affected your day.
Thanks to your emails and support for bikes onboard Caltrain, we have much
better onboard bicycle service than we did three years ago.
Let’s make the
same thing happen with BART. Please email BART today:
