We see here how the local civic bike group influenced the city, even using our flyer design and organizing a city bike ride (which we did in 2017 with a police escort). And emphasizing bike boulevards, which some of us highlighted as easy bike infrastructure.

Bike Boulevard Community Meeting March 9, 9-11 a.m., Beresford Rec Center

What's a Bicycle Boulevard?

Is a bicycle boulevard the same as a bike lane? If it's a boulevard, will it take away parking or car lanes? Join us to learn all about the plans for a 28th Avenue Bicycle Boulevard. Public Works staff want your help designing San Mateo’s first Bicycle Boulevard. Should it include speed humps, curb extensions, etc.? Cyclists of all levels are invited to join us March 9 from 9-11 a.m. at the Beresford Recreation Center, 2720 Alameda de las Pulgas. Let’s create a safe environment for cyclists and pedestrians!
