Great news!
Discussions with the Kamary Commons Developer Dominion Building
Systems (
http://www.dominionbuildit.com) and Pool Concepts (http://
www.pool-concepts.com/) show how willing and forward thinking the
owners of these businesses are. Pool Concepts is willing to provide an
easement to the city for a path to run along its property and Kamary
Commons is willing to connect that path to the jogging trail running
around its properties. While there is a lot more work to be done,
these verbal commitments give hope that the 2,250 homes near Hausman
will be able to access the 1604/Bandera commercial center without
risking their lives traveling next to 50 mph traffic on Hausman or the
1604 frontage road.

If successful, this will multiply the benefits TX DoT proposals to
improve Hausman from 1604 to Bandera.
A special thanks to Christina Cruz and Michael Shackleford of Diane
Cibrian's office for their help in explaining key issues and helping
navigate city bureacracy. I don't know how a council office could
provide faster or more accurate answers to a constituent.
I will discuss this development at the BMAC meeting tonight.
