There will be a 23, 50, 66 and 100 mile route. All going to the south with the 100-mile route turning around just before Manasota Key.

Here is the link to the route info page on the MS Website. You can download the route maps, cue sheets and appropriate GPS files for your device.

Are vehicle identification “decals” (Rover-1, SAG-1, etc.) available somewhere for downloading?

We’ll work on producing them. Unfortunately, the website previously used by this group is no longer in service, so we don’t have that to upload information anymore.

Howdy Brandon and Mike,

* I'm having trouble finding good maps

--- I can't find any with the rest stops marked, including the maps
accompanying the cue sheets.  The rest stops are only mentioned in the
cue sheet verbiage.

--- Except for the 23 mile, the maps have routes but no details, that
is, no street names and rest stops - not very helpful to us non-locals

--- The cue sheets appear to have errors, PRECO is RS6, New Life Church
is RS5, etc

--- The cue sheets appear to have routing errors - the 66 mile seems to
completely skip a turn onto Packinghouse or Cattlemen about entry #8.
The 52 mile shows correctly: rt on Palmer, lt on Cattlemen, rt on Bahia
Vista, left on Honore.  The 66 mile has: rt on Palmer, rt on Bahia
Vista, lt on Honore.  And this is with only a cursory examination of a
bit of the routing - worries me how many other errors there may be.

* The MS site (Galaxydigital) still shows RS1&7 at HarborChase, your
emails indicate the Good Shepard church farther north up Honore - a much
better location by the way, much more space.  RS1&7 appears to be used
both ways by the 52, 66, and 100 mile rides, potentially considerably
more activity than some of the other rest stops.

* I'm currently scheduled at RS8, New Life church, which is only
handling 100 miler activity, after 80.5 miles through the route, so
probably nothing until after noon.  If you want, I'm happy to be shifted
to RS1&7 instead.  I'd like to be somewhere I can be working, helpful.

Hi Rob, I'll forward your email regarding the maps to the Society staff. The "pretty maps" we all know and love were made by someone who isn't available this year, so we'll have to stick with Society provided maps. But, I will ask them about the discrepancies.

The rest stop list I used for assignments was provided by Society staff. I will ask them to verify. According to the staff, you had signed up on the Galaxy Digital site for the rest stop listed on my list, which is why I put you down there. Let's see if we get any other operators and then we can play around with assignments.

Thanks again for your willingness to participate.

Thank you for responding Brandon!

As to the society's maps, in my opinion they aren't usable, but I'll
defer to the SAG's, perhaps they have figured out a way to use them?  If
Net control asks a SAG to go somewhere, and that road or rest stop isn't
on their map (and it looks to me over 90% of roads aren't labeled on
their maps, unless they print a lot of map pages out) - what do they
do?  We don't want Net control spending half their time trying to give
directions.  Perhaps they could try following the cue sheets, but I
think most of us will be VERY happy to see Dana's work!  This has made
me appreciate how much work Dana has had to do, to make usable maps.
Thank you!

I'll work wherever you put me.  The Galaxy Digital web site demanded
selection of a rest stop, even though there was no routing info yet.  I
wanted to only put in that I'm available for any rest stop, but
preferred one that was busy.

It sounds like Dana will be making the maps we all know and love! So that’s a good start. The cue sheets I have asked the society to look into and as soon as I get a response I will let you know. Unfortunately I don’t have the luxury of knowledge of the area enough to know if anything is really wrong.

As far as assignment goes, I may take you up on your offer to move because you’re right, the traffic is definitely busier and more crucial at 1 rather than the other stop for 100 only. I’ll look when I get home and let you know.

Rob, I moved you to the RS on Honore. A new roster will be sent out over the weekend after any other changes are made.

All, we are still searching for another rest stop operator and a few more SAGs. We're down to 5 SAGs and a rover. Ideally, we would have more. Please pass it around your clubs and nets locally. Unfortunately, I'm a bit far away to do that myself.

Any chance we can get Rest Stop Lat/Long added to the final listing (with enough time to program my Garmin before Saturday)?  See example below from last year.  This is extremely helpful when we need to "proceed direct" to a specific rest stop.

Thanks,

I have programmed my Garmin dash GPS with the street addresses of the rest stops.  Makes is easy to get to a rest stop directly.  Here are the coordinates and addresses:
