Cabrillo Cruises the Rail Trail
Sunday, May 2, 2021, 1:00-3:00 pm
Let’s get away from our screens and into the spring air and kick off Bike Month! Bring your family and friends for a ride, walk or roll along the Rail Trail on Sunday, May, 2 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Wear your Cabrillo face covering or shirt or put a sign on your wheels or helmet so that we can enjoy connecting.
The Cabrillo community will be joining the larger community enjoying the fruits of this expanding vision. This map shows the Rail Trail route, endpoints where there will be parking, connections to other adventures, and information about the expanding Rail Trail vision and how it will improve our lives.
Details:
The trail is pretty much flat and around 1 ⅓ mile one way. So it is perfect for bikes, scooters, skateboards, wheelchairs, strollers or even feet without wheels. That amounts to around a ten-minute ride each way at 8 mph or a 30 min walk at 3 mph. Not long enough? Check out the connections to further adventures at either end. And when you are ready to stop rolling there are many places with food and beverages right on or a few blocks away from the trail.
East End: Neary Lagoon/ La Barranca Park California & Bay in Santa Cruz.
Grassy area and portable restroom available
Information on the Rail Trail Plan and the next segment of car-free trail to extend from this point to the Boardwalk.
