Dear BikeCNY supporter - The following message is from Danielle Krol, Senior Transportation Planner for the Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council. The SMTC has been in the process of updating and revising their Bicycle Suitability Map, previously published in 2003. BikeCNY, the Onondaga Cycling Club, and other stakeholders have participated in conversations with Ms. Krol in late spring to provide ideas for improving the first rendition, to make it more valuable in general to the cycling user.
Below is an announcement from Ms. Krol, inviting interested cyclists to participate in rating roads throughout the county.
Just in case the attachment does not show up for you, the two scheduled times are this coming Monday, July 20 at 9:30 AM and Thursday, July 23 at 5:30 PM, in the SMTC lower-level conference room at 100 Clinton Square (which is also 126 N. Salina St.). As she mentions below, if you can't attend either of those meetings, please contact her to set up a training time that works for you.
Regards -
Steve
