Short options flat, long option moderate hills.
After the ride we will have lunch in the beautiful outdoor garden of
the excellent Magnolia at the Mills at the trail's end in
Purcellville. There will also be an option to head to Dry Mill
Vineyards and Winery in Leesburg - which is on the way back to the
Beltway - for tastings and live music by Jim Heald.
DIRECTIONS
Take I-495 to exit 12, VA267 Dulles Toll Rd to the end & continue onto
the Greenway Toll Rd to its end in Leesburg. Take VA-7 Bypass West 9
miles to Purcellville exit VA-287 (VA7-BR) Lovettesville. Left onto
VA-287 Berlin Rd. Go 0.2 miles and turn Right on Hirst Rd. Go 0.4
miles and turn Left on Maple Ave/722. Go 0.2 miles and turn Left into
Loudoun Valley H.S., just past bike trail. Note: this is not the same
as Loudoun County HS! ***You can also take Route 7 all the way to
the VA-7 Bypass 9 West to avoid the expensive (but fast) Greenway.

This is a beautiful, mostly level, ride in a great riding area. The
park sits across the highway from Cunningham Falls State Park in the
picturesque Catoctin Mountains.
19 or 30 miles. (Our ride leader Ben may have a couple other hillier
options for you.)
Gentle to Moderate Hills.
Starting Site - Thurmont Community Park: Take I-270 North to Route 15
North in Frederick. Take Route 15 North for 16.3 miles to Route 806
(Note that there are several exits for 806 and you do not want the 1st
one, so watch your mileage), the Thurmont EXIT. At the end of the exit
ramp, turn RIGHT. Turn LEFT at the traffic light onto Route 806. In .5
miles turn LEFT into the park.
