Team Socks

I'm just getting caught up on postings and see there's been
considerable discussion about team jerseys. Assuming there is some
agreement that having apparel with a team identifier is valued, I
wonder what interest there might be in custom socks featuring your
team name or logo? I know, there's a huge difference between team
socks and team jerseys beyond even the obvious, but I am on a mission
of sorts and would appreciate your feedback.

Specifically, I am working with a sock manufacturer to design socks
for my team. We are a large friends and family team already positioned
to offer our team members jerseys (I am happy to talk with anyone
about our practice and philosophy as it ties to jerseys). Socks offer
teams that have team jerseys a relatively inexpensive means of
rounding out their apparel kit a bit. They may be used in a variety of
ways as a fundraiser or a motivator for those influencing team
achievement. Moreover, socks may be the first entree to custom team
apparel for a small team that cannot customize a jersey for whatever
reason.

If we had a manufacturer willing to design a high quality cycling-
specific sock that could be customized very simply to feature any
team's name or logo and color scheme, that required no minimum order
or a very low threshold, would there be interest? While I am posing
this particular question on behalf of my sock maker, I've been
thinking for some time about a way to perhaps better pool our buying
power as MS teams to leverage better deals, especially on behalf of
the smaller teams.
