There are some exciting developments happening with the City in terms of pedestrian connectors, signage, and a Web map and app to promote a Park Once and Walk Campaign.

Plus if you are familiar with the City Repair/Intersection Repair activities in Portland, you may be excited to learn that we will be having our own Village Building Convergence here in Sebastopol. Check out this photo essay of beautifully painted intersections, etc. http://www.yesmagazine.org/happiness/city-repair-photo-essay The local team will share about the Sebastopol event. It's a good time to learn more and consider the possibilities for neighborhood action concerning ped or bike needs.  (I believe the first Intersection Repair project was born as a result of a little girl being hit by a car while riding her bike at the intersection near her house.)

Please join us at the Ped Connector meeting Thursday 3/20 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at City Hall conference room (around the back) to learn more.

Cittaslow Sebastopol: Keeping Sebastopol green, local, friendly and artistic

"Cittaslow" (pronounced chee-TAH sloh) = "Slow City" in Italian.
In 2010, Sebastopol joined the international network of over 170 Slow Cities

The six priorities of a "Slow City" (Cittaslow):
• Support locally made products and agriculture
• Celebrate our history and culture
• Welcome visitors and embrace neighbors
• Integrate technologies for improved well-being
• Protect the health of the environment
• Develop community-friendly infrastructure (walk ways, bike paths, open space and parks)
