This is Cordova TT weekend. Today was the 20K and tomorrow is the 40K. The organization was a little weak and we started off the first rider about 40 min late. Everyone had plenty of time to warm up! Otherwise, I can't complain. It's great that these guys are putting this on at all.
I had a good day. 30:29 for 20K (24.3 mph). That's the best I've done in years. Of course, the usual 20K TT is in May and there are usually monsoon winds. Winds were fairly light and from the NW, so the first 5 miles had a little tailwind and the last seven had a headwind which wasn't a big deal. The course was a bit long. Both my Garmin and my Cateye had 12.65 as I crossed the line and there were no markings on the course until a 1-mile-to-go sign, but hey, it's a chance to go flog yourself!
Registration starts at 7:45 tomorrow and the first rider goes off at 9:00 (or thereabouts!) Come on out and support this close-to-home event. It's use it or lose it.......
