Local food meets local wheels: bike to 100 mi. radius potluck

You have heard about the community potluck series going: "100 mile
radius potlucks", where folks strike to source their ingredients
within a hundred miles. I already see a number of Bike Richmond folk
at these events, and I think this "local food" events makes a great
bike trip destination for our local bikes-as-transportation
initiative.

Below is the announcement for the next event, which is next Sunday.

Hello All! My name is Hopi Stosberg. Some of you may know me or
remember
me from prior 100 mile radius potlucks. Together with Stephen Johnson
and
Carol Hunter I am helping to organize them this summer since Anna Lisa
Gross
is out of town. We are looking forward to good times and good food at
each
event this year.

Our next potluck will be next Sunday, May 31st at 6 pm. I have
arranged to have
each potluck this summer at an open air shelter in one of our city
parks.
This month we will break bread at Shelter #8 in Glen Miller Park.
That
shelter is diagonal to the lake and across from the playground. Since
there
is shelter and picnic tables the event will happen rain or shine and
there
should be plenty of seating.

Locally grown food is starting to abound this season and there are
many
places to get local products, including Abundant Acres Farm, the Amish
store
in Fountain City, and Boulder Belt Organics. Please let me know if
you need
further directions or assistance in creating a local dish. I hope to
see
you next week!
