Cyclists in Michiana-
In less than three weeks, Goshen will be hosting it's first criterium!

A criterium (or crit) is a bike race that is held on a short course on closed city streets.  This race will loop four city blocks in Downtown Goshen during First Fridays (Goshen's big downtown block party) in May.  There will be lots of food, entertainment, open businesses, beer and many more events going on as well.

There will be $1600 in cash prizes distributed among 3 heats (beginners, intermediate, advanced)! This crit is an official USA Cycling sanctioned race.

In fact, the theme of May's First Friday is bicycles!  Bring your family and participate in the Family Bike Parade or watch the Girl Scout's Pedal Car Derby.  There will be live music, a beer garden, bike art, and a bike safety and info tent.

You can find a full list of events, race details and registration and learn more about Goshen's First Fridays here:  http://www.cityonthego.org/first_fridays

Here is a map of all of the events that will be happening.  http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=211202332508371815799.00049e0f6c3eac3a8b4f9&ll=41.584409,-85.835495&spn=0.009164,0.020599&z=16

The public is encouraged to bike downtown to First Fridays. There will be temporary bike parking set up for over 250 bikes in addition to some of the 60 new bike racks the city has purchased.

Spread the word!

Thanks,
