Hi Lemoene I will come up with a use case. There a re a few more areas that are needed to circle up the feature.
I have not used this myself, need to check out configuring the user logged in - department relationship. We wanted to evaluate it in performance context but were advised that (at that stage) it would have little impact.
Currently the system is filtering analysis, analysis requests and worksheets. Worksheet templates, profiles and report templates are not being filtered.
I think it will be worth filtering profiles and worksheet templates, not too sure how your use case on reports is like.
Yes, please write that up, I can see a clear Business Case. Could be easy to code.
We are now in the process of upgrading our Bika LIMS installation to Senaite LIMS.
Just checking, you are doing Health ? We have the first Senaite release running on our demo at https://health.bikalims.org/, we are experiencing a few small site specific issues, needs more testing, but is looking very good.

We saw an excellent feature 'Filtering on Department'. I found that, the department field is attached to Lab Contacts and Analysis Services only.
My question is, will this filter be able to filter following objects too:
Analysis Profiles
Worksheet Templates
Worksheets
Report Templates
I assume following objects will be filtered by this feature:
Analysis Services
Analysis Request
Your kind response is anticipated and will be appreciated,

Khurram.
Thanks Tendai

Cool, thanks man.
I am new to the departmental segregation function, I am missing something, quite likely how to connect the actual logged in user to a department. At the moment however I get the Dept Filter portlet to show only for admin users, https://jira.bikalabs.com/browse/HEALTH-730
@khurram? @ronaldm? Are you testing on Bika Health Senaite Tendai?
