Compadrés:

Anyone have any interest in biking to Big Stone Mini Golf on Sunday? Big Stone Mini Golf, aka. "mini golf heaven", is perhaps the greatest discovery in the Twin Cities metro area since the internet.

http://bigstoneminigolf.com/

It's basically like playing mini golf in a Tim Burton movie, with goats and chickens and bunnies sprinkled around for good measure.

The bike ride itself is undaunting and pleasant, about 22 miles from the Greenway and Lake Calhoun. The ENTIRE RIDE IS OFF STREET RAIL TRAIL, which makes it comfortable, convenient, luxurious, scenic, relaxing, and conversation-inducing. You'd be hard pressed to find a better city bike trail than this anywhere in the world. Going there and back will seem like a breeze.  Probably take 2.5 hours each way, depending on variables. Leave 10:00, have picnic, play a round of the best mini golf anyone has ever imagined, and head back, arrive home by 5:00 or so depending.

Sunday is supposed to be 81 degrees, perfect for a trip like this.

Let me know if you are interested. (Or if this doesn't get off the ground, if you'd be up for it some other day.)

Yrs,
Bill

I'm game -- was planning a long sunday ride out that way.

Just yesterday I had the great joy of playing this course. It is all
that Bill suggests and more.

Personally I suggest that we meet at Isles Bun and Coffee on the 28th
and Hennipen. Starting the day with a bit of sugar and a lot of carbs
is good for you.
