Hello everyone,
I wanted to let you know personally that Flying Forms has a concert coming up this Saturday, December 15 at 8:00pm at The Baroque Room in Saint Paul. The concert is going to be very fun with lots of smaller pieces or parts of pieces featuring Tami, me, Phil Rukavina on lute and, fresh from her Kennedy Center debut, soprano Carrie Henneman Shaw. The concert is called A Baroque Christmas - it's our version of a Christmas concert with some music directly pulled from works about the holiday and other pieces that simply fit well with their sound and energy.
The music will include a Corelli violin sonata with lute, Byrd's beautiful Lulla Lullaby, selections from Playford's Dancing Master, arias from Bach's Christmas Oratorio and Scarlatti's Christmas Cantata, and much more, including music for three violins by Purcell, Schmelzer and Constantin with students Anna Humphrey and Emma Richman. We're excited for you to hear them play - they sound fantastic.
Ticket information is at
www.thebaroqueroom.com, but you can always just show up and get tickets at the door. We'd love to see you at this concert as it will be a plain old good time. Please also send this email on to friends and family you think might like to come to the concert.
If you have any questions about getting to The Baroque Room, parking, etc. just let me know. We want you there so anything I can do to make that easier I am happy to do!
For added enticement here is a picture of our new daughter Nadia. She is almost 8 weeks old and will be in attendance at the concert :) (across the hall, actually, so she won't disrupt us).
