The good news: Luke IS a PhD now. He passed his defense with [insert
pithy phrase].
The bad news: Like is in SEATTLE now. He got waylaid by the snowstorm
and had to do his defense via Skype (or somesuch technology). His
advisor told me that, once again, Luke is on the cutting edge of
technological innovation. Yet, now we are witness to the downside of
cyber-space; we are left out in the cold, without the subtle joys of
face=to-face celebratory spatial proximity.
Another time, my friends. Another time.
