BSB codes

Anyone know anything about BSB codes? I'm looking to transfer some money
into a Commbank account in 99 Queens Street Melbourne and have a number of
3003 - which Netbank doesn't seem to think is correct.

probably 003003 - BSB numbers have 6 digits

should be 063-003 as far as I know. Could be 763-003 if it's a savings
account.

3003 is correct as the guy's *internal* BSB. It's used within Commonwealth
Banks. External transactions, such as NetBank can go through with the
4-digit BSB, but as you've experienced I think they've changed it to require
the full 6-digit BSB number. Try 06 infront. If it's wrong, the money will
simply come back to you the next day. You could always ring 132221 and ask.

BANK = 2 digits
STATE = this is 3 for Vic, sme as fone code.
BRANCH = 3 digits.

shoulnd't make a dif. if it is savings or not.
