Hi,

I am using Debian GNU/Linux w/2.4.18 kernel along with bpalogin to
connect to BPA.

My Ethernet interface eth1 successfully gets a dhcp assigned ip
address (138.130.57.x) and my /etc/resolv.conf gets updated with the
correct 3 nsw bpa DNS servers.

I can also successfully initiate a connection to the dce server on
port 5050 (using telnet)

However, when I use bpalogin -c bpalogin.conf, I get the error
"T_MSG_LOGIN_RESP - Login failure: other error" in my syslog.

This configuration worked excellently for me yesterday. The only
configuration change I have made since then are:

1. Unplugged the cable from the Cable modem to my linux server's
network card
2. Took the eth1 interface offline and online a few times
3. Reset cable modem

I believe my problem is identical to the one describe on the thread
below, I could not find a solution to the problem.

Any got any ideas? It would be nice to be able to use my cable
connection tonight after work.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Geoff

This problem was caused by me using multiple computers (different MAC
addr) and not disconnecting an existing session before starting a new
one. Hence Bigpond still had the existing MAC addr in their cache and
would not allow another MAC addr to log on.

There is a few ways to disconnect - ring Bigpond and ask, or use the
Disconnect function on the client.

In my case, I logged on to bpa on the Windows machine and pressed
disconnect then powered the computer off. After this the linux machine
had no problems logging on with bpalogin.
