samba & LDAP & windows 2000

Hi,

Before I start down this painful road. I would like to know if it is
possible and if any one has done it.

Can I configure samba to use LDAP for authentication and configure samba to
be a PDC or some how point Window2000 ADS to this samba box.

So that I can create users in the LDAP database and give them access to
Unix/Linux and samba and to windows machines
