Hi all

I'm trying to setup an ADSL connection to BigPond for a friend using
an Alcatel SpeedTouch Home modem. I know that I'm almost there as
where I do a 'pppoe -A' it responds with the name of the Telstra
exchange. I am getting LCP timeout after running 'adsl-start' and
now, after adding entries to /etc/ppp/options, I'm able to connect (to
somewhere) and am being assigned weird-arsed addresses (10.64.64.64
local and 10.112.112.112 remote) but as soon as I try and ping an
internet address or do a 'netstat -rn' I get:

pppd[1209]: ioctl(TIOCSETD): Inappropriate ioctl for device
pppd[1209]: Couldn't restore device fd flags: Inappropriate ioctl for
device
pppd[1209]: tcsetattr: Inappropriate ioctl for device

and then the ppp0 interface closes.

I'm using RH7.3, rp-pppoe 3.3 and pppd 2.4.1, is the rp-pppoe plugin
required? And if so, where can I find it?

Please, please, please help.

TIA

Colin
