to BiglyBT
I have been using BiglyBT (previously Vuze) for years now with my VPN (PureVPN). A few months back I noticed some of my torrents were showing red and blue dots in the health status. This got worse and worse. When I finally ran an internet connection test, it shows that forwarded ports for both TCP and UDP are closed (attached images). I have tried everything I could think of. Disabled Win 10 firewall (all 3, domain, public and private), re-enabled with inbound/outbound port forwarding rules, manually added port forwarding rules to my router, reinstalled BiglyBT and allowed for UPnP addition of port rules to the router (which is working). But no matter what I do, the test runs the same. What I don't understand is that why do the port forwarding rules, created by BiglyBT via UPnP into my router, use the computer static IP (which I set) for the port forward, instead of using the PureVPN IP address (which changes with each connection)? That is what makes me guess why the port forwarding wouldn't work. Because wouldn't the router need to forward the port to the new ip address established by the VPN connection and not the static IP address of the computer? I'm not sure, but I cannot figure out why I am getting this closed port error.
