Dear Andrew,

Please find attached a Club Affiliation Form for your club to re-affiliate to the Surrey League for 2011.  Please complete and return the form (together with your Affiliation Fee of £60) to me by the date of AGM.  Your Club can arrange its promotion(s) for 2011 at the AGM.  May I remind you that membership of the League requires your club to promote.

The 2010 AGM and Prize Presentation will take place on November 17, 2010 at Leigh.  Please see attached notice.  All members are welcome to attend, but we would like an idea of who will be attending so we can arrange for refreshments.

Although Nigel Carpenter now stores all the Race Equipment at his place of work, a lot of it is passed from Organiser to Organiser after the races during the season. Once again a lot of the race equipment has gone missing during the season.  Please can you and your members check your cars and garages for our race equipment and bring it along to the AGM.  Can you please also ask your members to return any of our body numbers they may have.

I am now appointing Commissaires and Assistant Commissaires to all events.  We do, however have a shortage of volunteers.  We need your older, more experienced, riders who can act as, firstly, Assistant Commissaires and then, if they wish, to move on to becoming full Regional Commissaires.  The Region now holds training courses for Assistant Commissaires, and the next one is booked for April 16, 2011.

Thanks from all of us for your support during 2010 and we wish you a successful 2011.

Sincerely,

Glyn Durrant

Chaps, any thoughts in how we approach this (and SERRL)

If we are to grow as a racing club we are going to need help from the other members.

Andy, Could we consider asking Mike (B2B Mike) to assist as club events secretary?

No, not yet. It would be good if we could get away with something like this year again, but I doubt it

I've emailed Glyn at Surrey League requesting a 2011 calendar, I've also asked him to clarify if we HAVE to promote an event as well as clarify what is expected of the roles listed in his form.

Cheers
P

Hey Paul

I am working on the calendar at the moment.  I am not normally able to have a complete enough calendar to publish until after Christmas.

Please see our rules at http://www.surreyleague.co.uk/rules.htm for what is required of clubs.

The club rep is our contact with your club.  The organiser is the person who will promote an event on behalf of the League.

Hi Glyn,
Do you have a calendar for the 2011 Surrey League events which we can use to decided on an event to promote. Also am i right in thinking all clubs participating are required to promote events or are there other options? Finally can you confirm what is expected of the roles in your form below so we can nominate the appropriate people within the club.

Thanks
Paul Sewell (Bigfoot CC)
