But I worded my question badly.
I wish to find out the driver version currently installed.
I bought my printer in 2019.
The latest driver on CANON's web site is version 1.07 from 2021.
Presumably that driver is newer than the one now installed.
But I can't find out what version is now installed.
Canon's Instructions say to click the About button on the driver window's Maintenance tab.
That displays a dialog that says

I'm not a tech, so I'm not sure how to check the current version installed, but you always want to ensure the most current version of the drivers and software are installed to prevent the possibility of any issues popping up!
For normal people, that is good advice. But fiddling with basal components like drivers gives me the heebie jeebies. Even if the driver is obsolete, the printer works ok, so I'll likely leave it, unless CANON persuades me I need to update.
