Hi Guys,

I have invites for Red Hat and BATC joint event, "Open Innovation Symposium - Driving Innovation Through Open Source". Don't have public link for the event but its targeted to Big Data and Analytics professionals.

Agenda looks boring except for talk by Jim Whitehurst (Red Hat CEO) at 10am and Q&A and then Big Data and Business Analytics Seminar until 12pm. If you're interested in going, let me know (include your profession) and I'll put you in the list. I think they're shortlisting people in the field to attend.

Some excerpts:

Big Data. Cloud Computing. Social and Business Analytics.

These are some of the biggest opportunities surrounding the future of information technology. The value driven by data analytics have impacted not just businesses, but daily life, but it takes the collaboration of skilled professionals, like yourself, and innovative technology to fully realize the true benefits of analytics.

With this in mind, A*STAR's Business Analytics Translational Centre (BATC) and Red Hat Asia Pacific presents to you the inaugural “Open Innovation Symposium”. Themed “Driving Innovation Through Open Source”, the event will introduce core ideas of big data analytics, projects by BATC, and how open source is enabling data scalability and innovations without boundaries. An memorandum of agreement will also be signed between BATC and Red Hat Asia Pacific to accelerate and drive adoption of business analytics initiatives in Singapore with open source technology.
