Hi,

For anyone interested in what things like VC-dimension, bias-variance trade-off, gradient descent, SVM, regularization, radial basis functions, overfitting, etc. are about, I can highly recommend this course.

Regards,

Bruno.

Hi,

Caltech's online machine learning course "Learning From Data" will be offered again this summer starting July 10, 2012. You and other alumni of the course have shown that there is broad demand from scholars all over the world for a course that emphasizes the fundamental understanding of machine learning.

If the course was a positive learning experience for you, may I ask you to help get the word out so others can benefit from it? Your personal mailings, tweets, and posts coming from a real participant will be far more effective than anything we ourselves can say.

The course website (http://work.caltech.edu/telecourse) has all the information about registration, schedule, and course content. We have polished the homeworks and discussion forum, and completed the carefully designed lectures. A high-resolution version of the lectures is available to universities that wish to offer the course as a regular class in their curriculum. Details are on the website.

Best regards.
