We use BBB in conjunction with our Schoology account.  One of my teachers is reporting that two of his students have figured out how to make themselves presenters simultanously.  What can we do to prevent this?

Hi Michael,

It shouldn't be possible to have more than one presenter, but it's possible they found a loophole.

Can you provide steps to reproduce (or e-mail me direct at ffdixon at bigbluebutton dot org).

If we can reproduce it, we can fix it pretty quick.

Regards,... Fred

Thanks.  I will reach out to the teacher who was experiencing this and see what info I can collect.

Hi Michele,

I was thinking about this ... if a student becomes a presenter, in the newer version of BigBlueButton they can turn on multi-user whiteboard that gives all users the ability to annotate the whiteboard.

It's a feature of BigBlueButton 2.0, see

I think this is what is happening.  It's shouldn't be anything to worry about unless a student is somehow logging in as a moderator when they should be assigned the role of student (our understanding is all students coming through Schoology are given the role of viewer, whereas teachers are given the role of moderator)

Regards,... Fred
