Hi, I am using Moodlecloud and I managed to install the plugin for bigbluebutton, but not the one called RecordingsBN so I cannot record my BBB activities and upload them later. Is it impossible to install RecordingsBN on Moodlecloud? if not, how should I do it?
Thanks.

Hi Natalia,

> I managed to install the plugin for bigbluebutton

Hmm .. I thought that MoodleCloud actually comes pre-configured with the BigBlueButtonBN plugin for Moodle.  MoodleCloud is free, and the pre-configured version of BigBlueButton is free up to 6 users in a session, no recordings, and no breakout rooms.  I don't think you can change this (but hey, it's free!).

Is it impossible to install RecordingsBN on Moodlecloud? if not, how should I do it?

I don't think you can add additional plugins to MoodleCloud (though I might be wrong).  Is your moodle site at moodlecloud.com?

If you want to have recordings, you would need to migrate from MoodleCloud to a Moodle Hosting Partner (or setup your own Moodle site).  Still, Moodle HQ is offering MoodleCloud for free, and it's a very good resource to use with Moodle and BigBlueButton.

Regards,... Fred

Hi there,

Not cool. The purpose of this forum is to help others, not for spamming of ads.

We've seen in other forums that devolve into a conduit for ads that the real users simply leave and the community as a whole weakens.

There are many commercial companies in this forum.  We all have our open source hats on here.  We establish our profile and credibility by helping others, not by flooding user's inboxes with ads.

It looks like you are creating new accounts and joining with them to send advertisements.    We care about our community and we will ban each and every account that attempts to use this mailing list for such purpose.

Regards,... Fred

If you are looking for a reliable and easy-to-use video conferencing system, you need to test a convenient control panel based on BigBlueButton - Createwebinar.com (https://createwebinar.com/). Currently, he uses Adobe Flash and html5 for mobile devices, but does not require the installation of software. In the arsenal of the service you: manage the parameters of the web seminar directly from the site, manage the address book and create separate groups of contacts, configure the web room, letter templates for sending and SMTP server, web recording and playback webinar, three different types of participant access (open to all participants, closed list of participants, participation required), possibility to share webinar record on Vimeo and Youtube , download webinars in mp4 format, automatically send invitations to webinar participants, etc. A small bonus - it is fully compatible with the work of Moodle, that is now you can download even from the BBB server records, and made with the help of Moodle.

Hi Natailia,

As Fred mentioned Moodle Cloud does not offer recordings as part of the free tier. They do though  if you upgrade to premium. BUT, this has nothing to do with RecordingsBN. IF, recordings are enabled, the meeting created by BigBlueButtonBN will have the feature for recording the session.

RecordingsBN was used for showing all the recordings in a course, BUT this plugin has been phased out as both plugins were merged. You would not find it even if you had recordings enabled as Moodle Cloud runs always the latest version of the plugin..

Now, if you upgrade to premium you will also have the ability to create BigBlueButtonBN rooms with recordings (that are shown under the description) and also BigBlueButtonBN resources that work in recordings only mode. The later is the functionality you had in the old RecordingsBN.

Regards,

JF
