Problems with Breakout Rooms

Hi,

We have heard a few complaints from different trainers and participants about problems with breakout rooms (or group rooms). Some of them also said that as soon as the breakout room has been created, the button for dividing disappears. The whole page starts to hang up and some participants are thrown out or are in both rooms at the same time and hear everything twice. We heard this from more than 1 trainer, so it is apparently not consistently stable.

Today I did some work with the group rooms. I noticed that BigBlueButton has a hard time dealing with group rooms being closed via the browser tab. When this happens, the browser tab with the main room has trouble reconnecting with audio. Only when the group room timer has expired or the group rooms have been closed from the main room will the audio connection for the main room moderator be restored. This problem has been reported by other trainers as well.

Has anybody experienced these 2 problems with breakout rooms?

I would really appreciate if someone could help with this.

please provide more info. We cannot help you if we don't know which version of BBB you're using, which browser(s), which OS(s), etc.

Sorry for missing out on the important info.

BBB Version - 2.7.4

Windows - 10 and 11

Browser - Google Chrome (latest version)

A few trainers have had the same problem who have the same configuration I have shared above.

Hi again,

there's a new version (2.7.5) that came out just a few days ago. Perhaps try to update and see if the error persist.
