Hello,

The first question: We are preloading documents and when the files are large (>4MB it seems), an exception is thrown. After some searching, I found that this bug had been reported:

The exception:
org.codehaus.groovy.runtime.InvokerInvocationException: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

Has anyone been able to get around this problem?

The second question: The load times (after the seminar has loaded in the browser) for preloaded documents can be a few minutes and seems proportional to file size. I believe this is during the time files are converted for display. This is confusing for users because the seminar appears loaded, but their files aren't available immediately. Is there anyway to speed this up?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks and have a nice day!

Hi Shanasta,

Thanks for your e-mail.  We haven't tried to resolve the issue with pre-uploading large presentations in our current 0.81 release cycle.  We'll take a closer look after the release of 0.81.

Re: the pre-uploading of documents, you are right that documents are converted in real-time.  What is the speed of the CPU on your BigBlueButton server?  If its a slow CPU, then one suggestion would be hosting BigBlueButton on a faster CPU would convert the documents proportionally faster.

Regards,... Fred

Cool. Since it is a java error, would increasing the memory assigned to the virtual machine help? Or is it related to something else and the java error is just a symptom? Or is it just an unknown right now?

Okay, I will take a look at the faster cpu option.

Thanks again and have a great day!
