Hi,

I have got a BBB 0.8b3 instance setup on EC2. I am using the Joomla
API (available on the Joomla Extensions Directory) to create/connect
to meetings.

However, the J1.5 component does not seem to have been updated for
0.8, and hence I don't see any record checkboxes/playback checkboxes.

Any ideas on when an updated Joomla API will be available (also for
later versions of Joomla, since the JED only has the API for version
1.5, and 1.5 is set for end-of-life in a month or two)?

I have seen the YouTube video, and also the API page, but am afraid
the parameter building in the URL itself is a little beyond me, since
I am not good at either programming, or the checksum stuff mentioned
in the API page.

Any help would be appreciated. (if the updated API is out for Drupal,
etc. would be glad to install those as well).

Thanks in advance,
Gupta

Hi Gupta,

Putting on my Blindside Networks hat for a moment, we wrote the Joomla integration at

Our plan is once BigBlueButton 0.8 final is finished, we'll update the Joomla integration to fully support record and playback. We don't have a date for delivery -- all we can say is it will be after 0.8 is solid and shipped.

Regards,... Fred

Hi Fred,

Thanks for the update. Makes sense to update the component afer 0.8 is
released.

Just curious though, what was the API used in the YouTube video to
demo the recording functionality? Was it a JSP page? If so, could I
trouble you to whip up a sample JSP page? (i know all the calls are
written on the API page, but most of us are GUI guys (non-geeks), and
it would help us immensely to have a 'modify-parameter' page rather
than write up pages from scratch.

Please let me know, since the recording demonstration is critical to
the rollout of BBB in my organization.

Thanks in advance,

Gupta.

Hi Gupta,

All the source for the demos are located on GitHub.  Here's a link to one of the demos on our demo server

You'll find the links to the source at the bottom of the above page.

Hi there,

Thanks for pointing this out!  The current BigBlueButton Joomla integration was for Joomla 1.5 and it looks like it's been removed from the Joomla extensions because it is now (very) out-of-date.

For now, we'll remove the link in the list of BigBlueButton integrations

The company that builds and supports the Joomla integration has plans to update it to Joomla 3.0, so when they do and get it approved by the Joomla organization, we'll put back the reference to the Joomla integration.

Regards,... Fred
