I am using BigBlueButton to record my lectures through my school's LMS, Canvas.  I record the output of a document camera pointed at the podium, and the audio from my laptop, both of which are AirPlayed to the classroom projector.

I recorded four classes yesterday (all times are Eastern US - I'm in Pittsburgh PA).  My 8AM class ended at 8:50 and the recording was ready at 8:54; my 9:10AM class ended at 9:55 and the recording was ready at 10:03; my 12:40PM class ended at 1:30 and the recording was ready at 1:33.

My 3:00PM class ended at 3:50 pm, and the recording was ready at 11:54PM.  This is not the first time that this particular class has taken so long to render.  Can anyone help me understand why this is happening?  I've attached screenshots of my inbox, so you can see the time stamps on the emails.

Thank you,

Hi,

you should provide more info.
- Are you the admin for the BBB server?
- Can you post server logs?
- Are you the only one using this specific BBB server?
- Versions of the OS and of BBB.

Regards,
J.

I am not a BBB server administrator, I am an end-user.  I only access BBB through the Canvas LTI, so I will forward this request for information to my Canvas administrator, and hopefully be able to follow up with that here.

Thank you!

Curious is the 50 minute class that was delayed,  actually have a 50 min length of the playback.   If the playback is longer 3hrs etc,  means the class did not end.  A user remained in until the meeting timed out and recording the empty end of that time.   The meeting may automatically end at 8hrs (an example) based on the server settings.

If the recording is 30minutes long, and just late... then its a function of the hosting provider processing the recordings.  May be a time of day thing where lots of classes finish, and it takes some time to process all of them.  They are most likely processed in a queue for lots of customers.

regards,
Stephen
