Hi,
we just got some weird error. When starting the webcam we got "Media server request timing out (error 2003)"/Timeout bei der Medienserververbindung (Fehler 2003.

We are using Version 2.2.3 and tried sudo reboot on the server which could not solve the problem. We still get the error after rebooting.

Weird thing is: In another Room on the same machine the is no problem when starting the webcam.

Does anyone have a hint for me?

Sincerely yours

Fred Dixon

Hi there,

> We are using Version 2.2.3

This might be a typo, but if that's the version you are running, please update to BigBlueButton 2.2.31.  Also, you can test your client against

to see if you get the same issue.

Upgrade first, and then setup multiple kurentos

Finally, this mailing list bigbluebutton-users is more for end-user questions (such as how do I start breakout rooms).  For installation/setup/troubleshooting issues on the server, post to bigbluebutton-setup.

Regards,... Fred

We have been using bbb 2.2 (then updated to 2.2.31 the time was releases) with moodle for months now without any issue even with load, CPU and memory never noticed exceeding 50%, however, recently we noticed audio breaking even with single teacher in room recording the lecture on server, to resolve this issue, we reboot the server.

Our server is ubuntu 16.4 LTD, 4 vCPU, 16 GB RAM, with almost no custom configuration other than default presentation and setting IP addresses that was done via bbb-install.sh

Any idea of cause/remedy ?

Ali

Hi Ali,

best steps will be:

Restore last 2.2 version from backup. Create identical system and always test updates before installing them on productive machines.

You could check you logs but I am pretty sure there will not be any hints.

I noticed here in school that our firefox browser suddenly (after the last updates) has microphones issues. I would say "breaking" too. If we use google chrome all is fine.

Sorry for not being of more help. Maybe someone else knows more.

Peter

Thanks so much Peter, however, v2.2.31 has been working fine (better that the previous version) since it was installed on almost all platforms with no complain, and you are right, no indication of any warming or error in all logs.

The issue here is that it returns to normal function after reboot, why is that?
