Hi,

I installed BBB and really like it - a great project! Everything is working fine except screen-sharing with the HTML5 client

When using the HTML5-client with Chrome Version 67.0.3396.87 on MacOS 10.13.5 screensharing is not working. When I press the button for screensharing a pop-up window tells me, that the Browser Plugin must be installed. However, the browser plugin is already installed (v0.0.4, from here

Screensharing with the java client is working fine, but I would prefer to use the HTML5 client.

Any ideas?

Hi Günter,

You need to publish your own screen sharing extension on the Google Play store.  This way, you can put in your server's hostname into the extension (this is how Chrome enables permission to transmit the user's screen to your server).

See

Try the above and let us know if that gets you going.

Regards,... Fred

Hi Fred,

thx for your response!

I followed the instructions till

If you are able to use this unpacked extension and it is working correctly, it is now safe to upload it to the Chrome WebStore.

The unpacked version was successfully loaded and activated by Chrome but still the same behavior - When starting screensharing the popup window tells me to "install this browser extension"

Regards,
Guenter

I had the same problem following the instructions in the README file and got to line
If you are able to use this unpacked extension and it is working correctly, it is now safe to upload it to the Chrome WebStore.

To help other people that might get to the same line and it is not working it is because you need to go to the end of the README file to see the BBB server configuration and update the configuration there even if you haven't publish yet your extension. Then it will work fine. May be a not in the README file could be good to tell people not to try straight away when getting to this line but proceed with the BBB server configuration indicated below.
