Hello,

2 questions :
- Can someone tell me which ports (UDP and TCP) are used by
FreeSwitch ?
- If one of these is already used on a machine, is FreeSwitch
configured to find an alternate port ?

Thanks,
-michel

freeswitch uses many different ports for different things, which
specific service are you interested in? SIP is configured on 5060 and
5080 by default. Event socket 8021. etc. etc. All ports can be
configured. You should ref. freeswitch docs or look at the xml
configurations under the /conf dir of an FS config. And/or post with
more specifics of exactly what you want to do.

thank you John -- there is another software with voicebridge running on the same machine, with uses 5060 and 5070
this explains the issue.
I will now change that

thanks again,

BBB uses 5070 to listen for SIP signalling. It connects to FS through
port 5060 for SIP signalling.

BBB uses RTP ports 15000-16383 for the media.
See /usr/share/red5/webapps/sip/WEB-INF/bigbluebutton-sip.properties

In /opt/freeswitch/conf/autoload_configs/switch.conf.xml, you can
change the RTP ports that FS uses.
By default, it is
<!--RTP port range -->
<!--<param name="rtp-start-port" value="16384"/>-->
<!--<param name="rtp-end-port" value="32768"/>-->
