Hey guys,
When I try to access the recorded sessions (presentations), I'm getting message "404 Not Found nginx/1.4.6 (Ubuntu)". I appreciate if anyone can help with this issue.

Hi Habtamu,

Can you tell us a bit about your BigBlueButton server -- did you set it up?  Were the recordings working before?

Are you by chance using test-install (a free BigBlueButton server for testing integrations)?

Hi Fred,
Thank you for getting back to me promptly. A consultant installed the bbb. I'm not a tech guy. Yet, bbb is integrated with Moodle - we never had issues with BBB. Now, I can't access the recorded sessions. Your assistance is appreciated.

Hi Habtamu,

The first step to determine why recordings are not showing would be to look closer at your BigBlueButton server.  When you go into a BigBlueButton session, does the URL include the words 'test-install'?

Hi Fred,
The URL link after i click the presentation does not have "test-install". It's been working fine. After getting "404 Not Found" error - sometime it works fine. I'm wondering why?

Hi Habtamu,

If the recording link is not returning a recording -- its likely the recording you are referencing has been deleted.

Recommend you contact whomever has setup your BigBlueButton server (or providing you hosting for BigBlueButton) for help.

We don't have any visibility into your BigBlueButton server (of course), so whomever is administrating it would be better able to assist you.

It sounds like the 404 is on the playback files rather than on a specific recording. If that's the case then it could be a few different things. It could be that the playback files no longer exists. It could be that the nginx redirect to files no longer works/exists. It could be that you aren't accessing the correct files from your front-end.

Things to check would be:

Are the playback files there?

Is your nginx redirect still set up?

Does the URL that you're accessing look like "http://<server>/playback/presentation/0.9.0/playback.html?meetingId=<meetingId>"?

That's working from a 1.1-beta server so 1.0 might be slightly different and it will definitely be different if your server is 0.9.
