Hello, I've been using BBB 0.9 on Ubuntu 14 for over a year without a problem. Recently (last week) , Chrome has made some changes and now the camera does not open. It says that the camera is used by another program.
Firefox and Microsoft Edge are fine with it.

Is there anything I can do in order to open the camera in Chrome?

Thanks

Is your server on HTTP or HTTPS? I think Chrome recently put in a change that they will only allow camera access under HTTPS.

We have instructions for 1.1, but nothing for 0.9. The 1.1 instructions can be found here, http://docs.bigbluebutton.org/install/install.html#configuring-ssl-on-your-bigbluebutton-server.

Hi Panagiotis,

Definitely recommend you upgrade to BigBlueButton 1.1 if you can.  It's very solid and some commercial companies in the BigBlueButton ecosystem have been running it in production for months.

Regards,... Fred

I think I will upgrade...I've searched but I couldn't find any upgrade instructions. Should I setup over the old version?

Furthermore I have a lot of recorded files that I need them. Upgrading BBB will loose them?

Thanks

You'll need to setup a fresh Ubuntu 16.04 server and install 1.1 on top of that. For transferring recordings see this section of the install docs, http://docs.bigbluebutton.org/install/install.html#transfer-existing-published-recordings.
