Starting Breakout rooms in Moodle

I'm using BBB in Moodle for a virtual classroom.  I'm currently testing the platform to see if it will work for us.  I'm trying to run breakout rooms as shown in the video.  My room doesn't show the breakout room option.

Is there a toggle or setting to turn these on?

Breakout rooms should be enabled by default. Are you just using our test-install BBB server or your own hosted one?

I just went into a meeting on the test-install server and I can see the option to start breakout rooms.

I'm running the native plug in loaded into Moodle.

That plugin has configurations for what BBB server you want to connect to, but if you haven't changed it then it'll be the test-install server. Can you send a screenshot of what you see when you load the client and click on the gear icon like in my screenshot please.

Breakout rooms are not available in the BigBlueButton version running on Moodle Cloud.    At the time of this writing, you have pretty much the full version of BigBlueButton minus breakout rooms and recordings.

You can upgrade for Moodle for Schools to get recordings for 7 days.

Why the limitations?  MoodleCloud is a very low-cost way for anyone in the world to benefit form BigBlueButton and Moodle.   There is a differentiation between Moodle Cloud and a Moodle Partner, and having breakout rooms and permanent recordings are the two main differences.

Still, if your using the free version of MoodleCloud, MoodleHQ is providing you quite a bit for free.
