greetings to all.
after so many weeks digging, trying and asking i am now on the last step to set my own bbb server.
I've integrated the cms wordpress to my bbb and can creat class rooms.
1)The problem i have now is that the class room can not be displayed.
2) bbb site is not the real site i expected but the demo site from bigblubutton.org.
what must i do in order to use the "real server" for my own purpose (i.e.that can be accessed from my domain and has the full functionality of bbb)?
must i rename "Bigbluebutron/Client/BigBlueButton.html" to index.html?
must I change bigbluebutton landing page to "/var/www/bigbluebutton/client" in "sites-available"?
when I give "mydomain.com/client/BigBlueButton.html" i get a "forbidden" message.

any idea and instruction is welcome.
thank you

Hi Tedbir,

2) bbb site is not the real site i expected but the demo site from bigblubutton.org.

There isn't enough information in your post to figure out your current setup ... Do you have one server or two servers?

You should direct them to your WordPress server as that becomes the front-end to your BigBlueButton server.  In other words, you don't need to modify files on your BigBlueButton server.

Have you configured WordPress to point to your BigBlueButton server (url and salt)?

Regards,... Fred

hi Fred
Wordpress and bbb are on one server. Both are on local machine.
host for wp ist mybbb. wiht this host mybbb/wp-admin i've access to wordpress admin panel.
wiht "domain" www.mybbb.edu ( bbb landing page /var/www/bigbluebutton) i've access to bbb demo page.
url (www.mybbb.edu/bigbluebutton) and salt are directed (in wordpress) to point to my bbb server.
regards

Hi Tedbir,

We recommend you run BigBlueButton on its own dedicated server without other web applications using port 80. For reasons why, see

Is it an option for you to run WordPress on a separate machine (not on the BigBlueButton server)?

Thank you Fred.
i am just learning how to install, configure and administer bbb server on my own home machine (one ubuntu machine and the other win 7 for checking). Having a separate server for wp is not an option to me.
what it is difficult for me to understand is why i get always the demo bbb-server. in the folder (/var/www/bigbluebutton) there are folder "client" and index.html.
this index.html is written to direct to demo-server. if so how can i come to the functioning real server?
regards
tedbir

Hi Tedbir,

We're going to recommend that you don't try to install a web-based application on your BigBlueButton server.

The two applications (WordPress and BigBlueButton) will conflict, and if you are new to BigBlueButton/Linux, it will take a while to understand how both applications are working, where they are conflicting, and how to resolve the conflicts.

You already have a functioning BigBlueButton server.  BigBlueButton does not come with a front-end for using the server, other than a number of API demos.

Instead, there are integrations for many popular web-based LMS and CSM systems.  If you pick one of these integrations, you can run it on a separate server and point it at the BigBlueButton server.  This becomes your front-end.

Regards,... Fred
