I am having trouble using bigbluebutton with external IP assigned
behind a pfsense firewall/router. As I am new to pfsense, can someone
help me with configuring BBB behind pfsense? I enabled nat
redirection and forwarded the nginx port 1935 and 9125 . I am pretty
sure this is a firewall thing because it was working fine behind my
other router!

thanks.

Hi dochiller,

Are you forwarding port 80?  This is the port web browsers connect to nginx with (just like when using Apache).

I changed the nginx port to 8081 via bbb-conf --setip x.x.x.x:8081 and
forwarded 8081 as well.
I can get to the green loading screen, but no modules load.

I did the same thing to bbb-conf --setip my.host.name:8800
After than I used bbb-conf --check. I found the port number is still 80.
I believe the BBB is hardcoded to port 80.

I am trying to run BBB behind a NAT. And there is a web site running on the external IP using port 80.

I have DNS server on the NAT machine, can I redirect 80 port based on the sub domain name and get BBB working behind a NAT?

Thank you!
