install ruby

hi, my ruby installation doesn,t works like in the tutorial:

ubuntu@ip-10-144-5-238:/usr/bin$ ruby -v

The program 'ruby' can be found in the following packages:

 * ruby1.8

 * ruby1.9.1

Try: sudo apt-get install <selected package>

ubuntu@ip-10-144-5-238:/usr/bin$ gem -v

The program 'gem' can be found in the following packages:

 * ruby1.9.1

 * rubygems

Try: sudo apt-get install <selected package>

ubuntu@ip-10-144-5-238:/usr/bin$ ruby1.9.2 -v

ruby 1.9.2p290 (2011-07-09 revision 32553) [x86_64-linux]

ubuntu@ip-10-144-5-238:/usr/bin$ gem1.9.2 -v

1.3.7

Hi Massimo,

Did you already have ruby installed on your server?  The instructions are written for a Ubuntu 10.04 server without ruby prior installed.

Recommend you remove all instances of Ruby, then try following the instructions again.

Very bad, as Amazon Aws only support Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS and Ubuntu Server 11.10
