We had an old BBB server set up, and last summer I set up a new one with HTTPS, and updated the Moodle plugins for BBB.  There is currently an issue where when they create a button and click it in Moodle to connect to the server, where Chrome users are getting an error about permissions to use the camera.  I realize that the solution to this is to connect to the server via HTTPS, but all of the config that I can find for the Moodle plug is configured to HTTPS.  Where exactly do I tell the Moodle plugin to connect to the server via HTTPS instead of HTTP?

Hello,
You should be able to put the https address in the general settings of BBB plugin in Moodle.
Look for the string bigbluebuttonbn_server_url in the site administration screen.
Hope this help,
Ludovic

I had already entered the https address into that string, however the button that is created in Moodle when they create a button to go to BBB, still goes to http.

Setting the server URL to HTTPS should be all that's required if your Moodle server and BBB server are properly configured. If you run this grep command on your BBB server, is the URL set to HTTPS?

grep "bigbluebutton.web.serverURL=" /usr/share/bbb-web/WEB-INF/classes/bigbluebutton.properties

It is set to http in that file.  Presumably I should change it in that file?

Did you set up the HTTPS/SSL manually or did you use the install script? I would double check that all of the configuration files match the changes listed here, http://docs.bigbluebutton.org/2.2/install.html#configure-ssl-on-your-bigbluebutton-server.

I don't recall offhand, I just followed some step-by-step guide to setting up a BBB server with SSL, and the SSL worked afterwards.  I will confirm all of those settings, thanks!

I was just curious because if you had set it up with the script then it was possible that there's an issue with it. Also, the instruction I had given are for 2.2, but if your BBB server is 2.0 then you'll want these steps, http://docs.bigbluebutton.org/install/install.html#configure-ssl-on-your-bigbluebutton-server. The only difference is the location of some of the configuration files.
