Hello, Person,

Look, you can help me, because I ran the script to install the BBB on Ubuntu 16.04.2 64bits and it arrives at a certain point and it presents an error when downloading the packages indicated in the image.

If someone has already gone through this and can help me, since I have tried to download from another package with another IP more accuses the same problem.

Apparently this version 16.04 is no longer giving support to download some packages needed to install the BBB.

Thank you

Hi Lenardo,

You can try changing your

 /etc/apt/sources.list

to the following

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial main restricted
deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial main restricted

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates main restricted
deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates main restricted

deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial universe
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates universe
deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates universe

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial multiverse
deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial multiverse
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates multiverse
deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates multiverse

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-backports main restricted universe multiverse
deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-backports main restricted universe multiverse

deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security main restricted
deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security main restricted
deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security universe
deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security universe
deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security multiverse
deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security multiverse

and do `apt-get update` to refresh the list of packages using the above URLs.

Hello Fred,

I made the list insertion and gave an apt get update and I get the same problem.

See that the IP to download even changed, but the error persists

See the annex.

If this is just a server that easy to delete and create a new one I would just do that. The latest Ubuntu is 16.04.5 (although I'm not really sure how much that matters) and you should probably start from there. Once you have the base installed do a "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade". If you get an error in any of those steps deal with it first before trying to go any further. These errors with base Ubuntu packages aren't something that we control and googling the error message will usually get you lots of posts with similar issues and potential solutions.

I have experienced in the past some troubles with packages, that were related to the repositories listed in /etc/apt/sources.list
Now I usually change the /etc/apt/sources.list files content as indicated in the http://docs.bigbluebutton.org/install/install.html#errors-with-packages installation instructions page:

"try replacing your /etc/apt/sources.list with the following

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security main restricted universe multiverse

then do

$ sudo apt-get update

and try installing BigBlueButton again from the beginning."

Hope this helps.

Regards,

German
