I want to setup a BBB cluster with scalelite for app. 200 users. The average meeting size will be 10-20 participants, everybody with mic & video.

As I will use virtual servers and Scalelite to distribute the load I'm wondering which is the better approach:

Option 1: Setup 2 virtual server (which should be sufficient für 200 users)
Option 2: Setup 3 (or 4) virtual servers

All virtual servers are on the same host.

Purpose of Option 2 would be to reduce the load on a single virtual server. If there is a linear correlation between number of participants and server load, there should be no difference between option 1 and 2. But my feeling is, that the server load increases disproportionately due to the BBB architecture

Thanks for your ideas and suggestions on this topic

uhm ... my BBB servers are stable up to 400 users, so there is no real
need to set up a cluster for 200.

everybody with mic &

Not going to do 400 on a server 😊

ah, missed the "everyone with video" part.

then you probably should have more than one server.

also you want to make sure pagination is enabled if that works for you

Thanks for your response. Do you also have an answer to my original question what is the better approach: 2 or 3 or 4 virtual servers?

That depends on the used hardware, used virtualisation technology, configuration and user behavior. Thus, you'll have to try that for yourself.
