GETTING URL AND SALT OF BIGBLUEBUTTON

HI, I NEED TO SETUP BBB IN MY WORDPRES SITE, I HAVE A CPANEL WITH UNLIMITED SPACE, PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO DO IT. I AM NEW TO BIGBLUE BUTTON. I HAVE INSTALLED THE BIG BLUE BUTTON SERVER IN WORDPRESS, PLEASE HELP ME HOW CAN I GET THE BIG BLUE BUTTON SERVER ADDRESS AND SALT.

Hi,
i think u need to download putty at http://www.putty.org/
connect to the server that servs BigBlueButton,
try comand:

sudo bbb-conf --secret

...or locate /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/bigbluebutton/WEB-INF/classes/bigbluebutton.properties

use vi like:

vi /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/bigbluebutton/WEB-INF/classes/bigbluebutton.properties

or use nano if u can:

sudo apt-get install nano
nano /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/bigbluebutton/WEB-INF/classes/bigbluebutton.properties

and find:

bigbluebutton.web.serverURL=
securitySalt=

You have installed the BigBlueButton plug-in for WordPress, not a BigBlueButton server.  The BigBlueButton plug-in comes with default parameters to an external BigBlueButton server (we refer to it as the test-install server).

In other words, the BigBlueButton server and WordPress server are completely different.  The link between them is the BigBlueButton plug-in for WordPress.

If you want to setup your own BigBlueButton server and use it's URL and shared secret for your WordPress, see

  https://code.google.com/p/bigbluebutton/wiki/090InstallationUbuntu#Before_you_install

and use the command (run via SSH on your BigBlueButton server)

  sudo bbb-conf --secret

to extract the server's URL and shared secret for API calls.

but i have shared server, with cpanel hosting, how can i install bbb server, i have install server on my laptop from bbb site, and the file is in vmware, how do upload it on my server, means, how can i run vmware file in cpanel. please help me.

You should install BigBlueButton on it's own dedicated server.  See
