Hello,

I installed BigBlueButton 2.0 using sh script, and i am able to join meeting using Flash client, and everything works fine, but i get 404 Not found error when i try to join with HTML5 client.

Output bbb-conf --status:
red5 ——————————————————► [✔ - active]
tomcat7 ———————————————► [✔ - active]
nginx —————————————————► [✔ - active]
freeswitch ————————————► [✔ - active]
redis-server.service ——► [✔ - active]

mongod ————————————————► [✘ - failed]
bbb-html5 —————————————► [✔ - active]
bbb-webrtc-sfu ————————► [✔ - active]
kurento-media-server ——► [✔ - active]

i can start mongod with systemctl start mongod, but it doesn't start on its own, also still getting 404 Not Found error
Also i googled at first, but every solution i found doesn't work for me

Hi Stefan,

What's happened is mongod isn't starting, as a result, the HTML5 client isn't able to run,.

Can you do

sudo ps -aef | grep mongod

and kill any mongod process you find.  Then try restarting mongod

  sudo systemctl restart mongod

and then do

  sudo bbb-conf --check

and let us know if you see it now running.

Regards,... Fred

Hi Fred,

Thank you for answering, yes, mongod is running now, but bbb-html5 doesn't.

bbb-webrtc-sfu ————————► [✔ - active]

Then i run command sudo systemctl start bbb-html5 to start bbb-html5, but mongod stoped again

Hi Stefan,

We've improved (simplified) the startup mongod in BigBlueButton 2.2-beta (which we are working on releasing).

For now, you don't need to start mongod with systemd, let BigBlueButton start it.

Can you try stopping BigBlueButton

  sudo bbb-conf --stop

killing all the running mongod processes, then starting BigBlueButton again.

  sudo bbb-conf --start

Hi Fred,

I did just like you told me to

freeswitch ————————————► [✔ - active]
redis-server.service ——► [✔ - active]

mongod ————————————————► [✘ - failed]

Didn't help.

Hi Stefan,

Hmm ... check the error logs for

  /var/log/mongodb/mongod.log

for errors.  What do you see?

Hi Fred,

Thank you for your answer, I managed to fix the problem by reinstalling BigBlueButton server on new VM, and giving it  more than 4 GB of ram. Not sure if giving it more ram fixed the problem, or just reinstalling on new VM.

Regards,
Stefan

Nice.  Thanks for sharing the solution.  We've improved the startup of Mongdb in the upcoming BigBlueButton 2.2-beta, which we are working on releasing shortly.
