Blindside Networks announces the availability of a BigBlueButton
Activity Module for Moodle 1.9 and for Moodle 2.0. We're looking for
your help to test these modules and give us feedback.

These two modules make it very easy for a teacher to define a
BigBlueButton virtual classrooms from within Moodle 1.9 or 2.0.

Using the activity module, a teacher can:
1. Add a BigBlueButton activity link to a class
2. Give the virtual classroom a name
3. Specify whether students must wait until a moderator joins the
virtual classroom

We wanted to make it very simple to use. When clicking on the
activity link, students are automatically joined as viewers, while
other users within Moodle (teachers, administrator, etc.) are joined
as moderator.

The activity module allows users to see the active BigBlueButton
rooms, showing a list of all the current users in each virtual
classroom. The activity module provides teachers the ability to 'end'
a session, which ends the virtual class on the BigBlueButton server.

We’ve created two videos to show how the activity modules work.

For Moodle 1.9+:
http://blindsidenetworks.com/video/moodle19/index.html

For Moodle 2.0:
http://blindsidenetworks.com/video/moodle19/index.html

The modules are available for download and testing from
http://blindsidenetworks.com/integration

These modules reflect our efforts to provide universities and colleges
a complete solution for integrating BigBlueButton within their
learning content management systems.

Regards,... Fred

Hi Fred,

Installed the plugin and tried setting up a room. Everything good till I got the following error:

Logging in as moderator ...

Exception - String could not be parsed as XML

More information about this error

I think that there might have been another error on upload as when I ran crone there was another error. Running crone again got rid of the error. Or so I thought. Let me know what I have to do.

John

Thanks for the help Fred. My bad for not "READING" the simple english instructions found on the BBB Moodle settings/configuration page. BBB is once again working with Moodle! Yeah! You guys have a fantastic product and I look forward to being able to get some B2B happening with you and your organization.

Thanks again.

Hi Rumah,

Just to confirm ... are you seeing the user waiting to join the
session, but after the moderator starts, the user never joins?

If so, if you are able to reproduce it consistently, can you try

1) Accessing class from a different browser (does it still wait indefinitely)
2) Clearing the browser cache
3) Restarting your BigBlueButton server

Again, there may be a subtle bug at play here with the server

http://code.google.com/p/bigbluebutton/issues/detail?id=672

Trying to narrow down if the problem is with the activity module,
moodle version (2.0.0 vs. 2.0.1), client, or BigBlueButton server.
