The last answer on the issue that you linked explains why it doesn't work and the current status of the project.

We have an HTML based client and an Adobe AIR based client in development, but there are no release dates.

The point of that part of my comment was just to say that neither project is ready for use in a production environment. You are more than welcome to work on or with the code.

You can find information on the HTML5 client here, http://docs.bigbluebutton.org/labs/html5-dev.html and information on the Adobe AIR client here, https://github.com/bigbluebutton/bbb-air-client

Hi Ahmed,

I thought Chad was pretty clear -- there is no Android client that is ready for production environment.

BigBlueButton is an open source project.  You are welcome to contribute to the development effort (if you have the skills).  See

Hi Ahmed,

That was an earlier attempt at android client for BigBlueButton (you can see the upload date is four years ago).  The client was developed by mconf.

There is a link at the bottom of the video you can find more information on the status of the client.

Hi Fred,

Apologies if this sounds a little repetitive but I wasn't sure whether this was clear or not.

Can Ipad access BBB through HTML5 client?

Thanks

Harry

That was a very old version of the HTML5 client (from late 2013) that used, I think, HLS streaming to deliver the video and audio. The current HTML5 client uses WebRTC to send and deliver the media streams and Apple has chosen to not support WebRTC on any platform. We have some potential alternative solutions like Adobe AIR, Cordova, or a native app available to us, but nothing concrete at the moment.

According to the MCONF website, they have completed an AIR based Android player, which is also available in Google Play.
I've not tested it yet, but it's looking promising.
