BigBlueButton and Chamilo

I am trying to get bigbluebutton integrated with chamilo. I setup my own bigbluebutton server as per the BBB install instructions, have the firewall configured correctly so I can hit the box form the outside. When I try to configure the BBB plugin in chamilo, using the URL http://my_ip_here/bigbluebutton and my salt, I launch a course and then click on Videoconference, I am immediately presented with an Videoconference server is not configured. Any help would be appreciated. I installed the demo modules for BigBlueButton and can launch those without an issue, it looks like everything should be working.

Ben, check the docs.  I believe in Chamilio its just http://www.server.com and no /bigbluebutton.

if you have access to bbb server,  just

sudo cat /var/log/nginx/bigbluebutton | grep create

And you can see the create call path and if chamilio is hitting the server.

Well that is interesting... when I try to launch video conference from Chamilo it fails almost right away and I don't see ANY entries in the nginx log file.. looks like it isn't making any sort of connection.. frustrating... looks like a chamilo related issue to me now.

ssh to chamilo box, make sure you can

sudo wget http://yourbbbserver.com/bigbluebutton/api and see if you get xml response in file of SUCCESS

sometimes you need to add a host entry on your server to map the bbb server FQDN

Im just pointing at the IP for the moment, not using DNS hostnames..

and yes if i do a wget get from the chamilo box to the bigbluebox api dir I do receive an xml file that tells me it was successful.

I seem to have fixed it by modifying a php in the plugins dir setting it to enabled.
