Audio issue only with people they join & greenlight v3 frontend

Dear all,

We just finalized an installation of bbb v2.7 + greenlight v3 in Azure. We followed the same steps as last time with 2.5. Everything was installed without an issue, we connected and the people they join they can clearly hear and see me but their audio were interrupted.  

It's a first time we face something like that. Did anyone else had the same issue?

Also, regarding the new greenlight - seems very nice - I just want to change the frontend text and setup the SMTP. Is there a more detailed guide for people they are not so familiar with docker? The guidelines here are a bit short. Seems are some changes compared to v2.

Hi,

are you using the stun/turn server integrated in the new BBB version? Are you using an external stun/turn server? Are you using stun/turn at all?

For the docker part... you'll just have to learn a bit of docker since BBB and GL use it a lot.

Thanks a lot for answering. No stun/turn at all. The Azure setup is thetypical one below and the configuration (freeswitch etc) is at it should be. Yesterday, right after the installation, the sound was interrupted. Today, everything is perfect! Don't know, it's a bit strange, maybe azure needed some time to adjust the network/firewall?

 

Regarding docker/frontend, I understand of course, it's necessary to know a bit about docker. But for v2, there was a detailed guide, steps and paths. Even if you know docker, v3 has changes and it would be nice if you had some directions, be sure you won't do anything stupid. Here is a step by step detailed guide we had made for v2, based of course on the official documentation. Should we follow the same logic?

Any reply or help will be really appreciated.

can't really say a lot about azure since I've never had servers with them. Good to know it's working for you. However, if you still have problems in the future regarding no audio/video, do consider installing a stun/turn server.

Your guide seems ok for GLv2. I can't really say it's the same for GLv3 since some stuff has changed.

Currently there's no detailed guide for GLv3 as there was for GLv2 regarding customization. I guess we have to learn Ruby on Rails and React to fully customize the GLv3 frontend. If we only had a lot of time...

I am using BBB on azure previously with AWS.
Earlier I was using custom turn server so I faced a lot of issues with ios and mac. Since BBB introduced server integrated turn server I have not faced any issues with audio join.

Thank you for replying Jean, I can say now it's very easy to customize V3 texts in the front end, following the guidelines. No reason to build a new image etc.

It's true though, that if you want to make further customization and/or add scripts, need more work and skills. I'm very happy with v3, I hope the developers create a more detailed guide in the future and also integrate more languages in the default installation.

CAPTAIN ZARAKI, I have exactly the same experience, no issues at all after BBB introduced the integrated turn server (in Azure).
