Hey there.
I need to know if is just possible to install an BBB on a Amazon Linux EC2 server, I have a installation in a Ubuntu 10.04 (Here on my lab) and it is the verison 0.80.
Now I need to install in the amazon linux, is there any turorial or a step-guide to do this?
The installation on Ubuntu 10.04 is pretty simpe, because the commando sudo apt-get install bigblubutton .

I know that this linux is based on CentOS, and looks like that is no support for CentOS, is this right?
So, is there any way to install BBB on a amazon instance ec2 linux server?

Thanks for everything.

Hi,

You can use Ubuntu 10.04 Linux on Amazon, and we know it works - several
people have run servers there. I recommend you use one of the Ubuntu
10.04 images from
http://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/releases/10.04/release/
Just click the "Launch" button for the 64-bit image in the appropriate
region.

We do not support running BigBlueButton in an Amazon Linux or
CentoOS/RHEL instance on EC2.

I know that the BBB 0.81 will uses Ubuntu 12.04, and thiscan be  provided by amazon.

BigBlueButton 0.81 requires Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit. See

Hi Fonso,

Or I will find some dificults on the installation?

We (the core developers) haven't done any testing on Ubuntu 12.04.  The next version of BigBlueButton will be packaged for Ubuntu 12.04, so the easiest path would be use Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit for now, then you could move to Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit for the next release.

Regards,... Fred
